   In the presence of Prof. Dean of the Faculty of Arts, King Saud University, the Saudi Geographical Society hosted the German Geographical Society at the Forum of the Faculty of Arts, King Saud University,

   Prof. Dr. Nayef bin Thunayan Al Saud, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, King Saud University, on Monday, April 22, 2019, sponsored the meeting between the Saudi Geographical Society and the Geographical Society at the University of Würzburg, Germany. He welcomed the visiting delegation and wished them a pleasant journey in their second country Saudi Arabia, followed by a speech from Dr. Ali bin Abdullah Al-Dosari, President of the Saudi Geographical Society, welcoming the delegation, and thanks to Dr. Nasser bin Murshid Al-Zeer, Head of Geography Department, and to the Dean , For their support to Host the delegation, and thanked the faculty members of the Department of Geography at King Saud University, Saudi universities and members of the Society for attending the meeting. At the end of the ceremony, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two societies and the exchange of gifts and commemorative shields.

Dr. Ali bin Abdullah Al-Dosari, Chairman of the Saudi Geographical Society, reviewed the definition of the Saudi Geographical Society, its objectives and activities.The audience also heard an explanation from Dr. Konrad Schleifak, Secretary General of the German Geographical Society at the University of Würzburg, on the introduction of the German Geographical Society and the delegation.

The delegation also visited the Department of Geography, Faculty of Arts, King Saud University, and they listened to a detailed explanation of the Department of Geography, GIS laboratories and remote sensing. The delegation also visited the headquarters of the Saudi Geographical Society. The delegation was received by HE Dr. Samer Sahla, Head of the Department of Antiquities, who gave a detailed explanation on the contents of the museum. The participants expressed their happiness for the visit and praised the rich information provided to them about the Kingdom’s history and archeology.

In conclusion, the Saudi Geographical Society held a luncheon for the delegation at Al-Marqab Hall at King Saud University.
